No chance of blinking and missing this one.

The north-west Tasmanian town of Stanley makes its presence felt in the trailer for the new movie The Light Between The Oceans.

It stars British actor Michael Fassbender, Rachel Weisz and Alicia Vikander.

Many locals were employed as extras on the film and Screen Tasmania says a local celebration will be held to mark its release, but there is no word on whether a special premiere would happen in the town.

Screen Tasmania supported production company Dreamworks with location scouting and assisted on the ground with production facilities and extras casting during filming in 2014.

A September 2 release date has been announced for the Hollywood film.
