5 of the Best Books For Dad This Father’s Day

August 30, 2025 4:00 am in by

We all have memories of seeing Dad in his favourite chair (because all Dads have a favourite chair, whether they will admit it or not) relaxed and enjoying a good book. Some empires crumble, others are rewritten. This blistering deep dive into Japan’s rise to power examines more than just military strategy. Ritual, propaganda, and a spiritualized obsession with “death before dishonor” fueled one of the most brutal and mythicized regimes of the 20th century. Narrated by Jason M. Palmer, this historical expose blends truth with gripping storytelling, unearthing the raw underpinnings of an empire driven by ideology as much as strategy. AudioBook
