Chair of the Festival Tim Munro is proud to present more than 170 events across the State, including the Big Sing in Hobart.

“We are the beginning of the light that follows the dark and we’ll be out here starting on the forecourt of PW1 with the Big Sing on the 1st of July from about 5pm and we’d love to see as many Tasmanians come, it’s a free event and there will be a fantastic range of singers, local and from elsewhere.”

Meanwhile, preliminary data collected by DarkLab suggests overall attendance figures for this year for Dark Mofo are well above anything recorded previously.

Event organisers have reported a preliminary overall attendance total of about 427,000 visitations across all ticketed and non-ticketed events.

Impressively, this includes approximately 110,000 total attendances at the Winter Feast and 90,000 at Dark Park.

“These figures show the value to our State from supporting events such as Dark Mofo and it’s the bottom-line of how we developed the newTasmanian Events Strategy 2023-2027,” Minister NicStreetsaid.

“Mass participation events like Dark Mofo and Festival of Voices are significant contributors to our State’s visitor economy.”
