Anti-salmon farm protesters have been condemned on social media following on a from last night’s Hillcrest Primary School tragedy memorial in Devonport.
Minutes before the official ceremony got underway, two protesters hung a banner from the Devonport multi-storey car park only a few metres above the podium where dignitaries, including Premier Jeremy Rockliff, were gathered awaiting the arrival of the Governor of Tasmania.
The three-metre long red banner with white lettering said “Eating Salmon Killing Tasmania”.
The sign was only visible for a few minutes before those responsible were moved on by Devonport City Council staff, driving off shortly afterwards.
