A man will face Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date on firearms charges.
The 56-year-old, of Southport, will be summonsed over an alleged haul of unregistered firearms, ammnunition and illicit drugs at the township in the state’s far south.
A tip-off from the public led police to a search on Sunday, allegedly uncovering nine guns.
“Unregistered firearms are a risk to our communities, and information from the public can help us get them off the street,” said Dover-based Senior Constable Nick Evans.
“There is a permanent amnesty in Tasmania and unregistered or unwanted firearms can be handed in to police or licenced firearms dealers without any action being taken.”
