Targa Tasmania CEO Mark Perry says he’s hopeful the event will continue well into the future.
Targa is forging ahead with the April 2024 event, set to start in Launceston and end in Hobart, after cutting ties with Motorsport Australia.
Organisers were unwilling to impose a 110-kilometre per hour speed limit after it was blamed for an 80 per cent drop in Targa Tour entrants.

Mr. Perry has told the ABC the hunt is now on for another insurer.
