Tassie builders feted

Greater Hobart construction projects have been recognised at the Master Builders Tasmania Awards for Excellence over the weekend.

Hutchinson Builders won categories for the new jetty tunnel at Mona (pictured) and the Kings Quarter housing development at Kingston.

Kyle Zanetto from Saint Leonard’s outfit Zanetto Brothers is the young builder of the year; the Northern glory didn’t stop there, Inhabit Construction anointed residential builder of the year.

Vos Construction & Joinery took out commercial builder of the year while also scooping a gong for its work on Launceston General Hospital’s acute medical unit.

Northern operators A2 Kitchens and Joinery, 3D Construction and Developments, and My Build Collective also walking away with category wins.

“One of the biggest new builds of the year was the Southern Remand Centre and it’s fantastic to see Hansen Yuncken awarded best New Construction (over $50 million) for that,” said Master Builders Tasmania CEO, Matthew Pollock.

“Access Solutions took out both Specialist Contractor of the Year for the Cygnet Town Hall and Supplier of the Year for The Point – Lift Upgrade. While Tim Holmes Builder won Hands On Apprentice of the Year.”
