You are encouraged to check out an exhibition as a bonus to live shows in Launceston’s season of Tasmania’s Uni Revue, terrorising everything ‘Woke’ and lampooning those ‘who have it coming.’
With a theme built around Tasmanians’ fixation with streaming, Uni Revue shows run nightly from this evening (Wednesday) to Saturday inclusive.
Curator of the exhibition titled Rude and Lewd and Crude and Nude, Ian Pirkis, has assembled pieces of the Revue’s 76 year history.
“A lovely tribute to Lara Giddings who was in the 1991 Uni Review prior to becoming the first female Premier of Tasmania, so too we have a signed copy of a programme in 2016 from Jacqui Lambie.”
As for the live show this year, Ian provides some insight into how the hilarity will be rolled out.
“A contemporary parody on the streaming services that currently use be it Stan or Netflix or Disney+, it’s a fun take on how people are using their devices and TV, being Tasmanian to the core, it parodies Tasmanian politics, Tasmanians themselves.”
Good seats for the shows at Launceston’s Princess Theatre are still available.
