Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has assured Tasmania it's share of the GST carve up wont be affected if there is a shake up.
A Productivity commission report looked into the way GST is distributed around the states and will be released publicly in the coming weeks.
Yesterday Mathias Cormann said Tasmania would "not lose a cent" if any changes were made.
Today Mr Turnbull reaffirmed that sentiment.
"I can confirm that Tasmania will not lose a cent from any changes," he said.
"Clearly the GST has been a formula which hardly anyone understands, has been a bone of contention."
