An extra Virgin flight was put on for Launceston Airport on Monday morning to help make up for Sunday's fog cancellations.
Flights returned to normal after heavy fog wreaked havoc on services and left hundreds stranded on Sunday, the problem compounded by school holidays which have booked out flights days in advance.
Qantas and Jetstar customers took to social media to express frustration after a lucky Virgin service found a gap in the fog and managed to land in the afternoon while other services were diverted to Devonport and Hobart.
The heavy fog cleared around 2 am Monday but returned to some degree later on.
The Weather Bureau expects a drier airmass following a cold front will see it off for good.
