Two men arrested in sweeping police raids across Hobart’s north last month will front the Supreme Court.
Alani Pavalu Moeakiola fronted the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning on a total of 28 drug trafficking, firearms and driving offences.
He’s entered not guilty pleas to the more serious drug and firearm charges, while the other smaller traffic matters were adjourned until July 23rd.
Alleged accomplice Joe Robert Moeakiola has pleaded not guilty to one drug trafficking charge - meaning they’ll both stand trial in the Supreme Court, beginning September 2.
David Moekiola, who was also arrested in the police operation, is yet to enter pleas to two drug trafficking charges; his lawyer asking for an adjournment until July 23 to get more information.
Three firearms, more than $100,000 worth of drugs and more than $25,000 cash were seized during Operation Gold last month, when more than 100 officers descended upon various addresses in Hobart's northern suburbs.
All three men were remanded in custody.
