A 28-year-old man has been charged in relating to an alleged shooting incident in Tecoma Road at Risdon Vale early yesterday.
Police were called to the property around 5am, finding a 31-year-old man from Warrane with a non-life threatening wound to his arm. The alleged offender was located shortly after and both men were known to each other.
The injured man was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment.
Police say a drone was used to map the scene and an explosive-detection dog was deployed to search for the weapon used in the alleged incident but the firearm is yet to be recovered.
The man has been held in custody to appear in court today
Police say it is also timely reminder that there is a permanent firearms amnesty in Tasmania, which means that people who voluntarily surrender firearms to police will not be charged in relation to possessing firearms.
