A Launceston woman has narrowly avoided jail time for driving drunk into a house.
42 year old Mandy Margaret Irene Turner, who blew 0.23, close to five times over the limit, drove into a car followed soon after by a house at Prospect Vale on Christmas Eve.
She had been at a work Christmas party, was taken home safely but got behind the wheel after a quarrel.
When veering into the front of the Cheltenham Way house she nearly hit someone in the driveway.
One estimate of the damage bill from the night was $150,000.
Turner's seven month sentence is suspended for two years, while she's ordered to pay compensation to RACT insurance.
