Two people are in a critical condition after a crash this morning on Hobart's Eastern Shore.
At around 7.30am, a red Holden Cruze travelling towards Hobart crashed into a tree on the Tasman Highway approximately half a kilometre from the Mornington roundabout.
A 21 year old Acton Park man driving the car and his 19 year old female front seat passenger from Warrane were taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a critical condition.
The highway was partially closed for around 5 hours.
Police are investigating and are seeking witnesses to make contact if they saw the car before the accident.
