Police are seeking witnesses after a ute hit vehicles in Launceston on Monday afternoon.
It's alleged the gold-coloured Holden struck a number of cars parked near the Wellington Street Coles supermarket before losing control on the Bass Highway at Prospect and hitting a power pole.
A 53-year-old Railton man was left with non-life-threatening injuries.
He'll be charged with several offences including speeding and drug driving.
"Tasmania Police Service are very concerned that the driver put not only himself at risk, but also other road users," said Sergeant Ben Kromkamp.
"Although the driver did not suffer life-threatening injuries and no one else was injured, the situation could have easily been more serious, particularly given the presence of a number of ‘Fatal 5’ contributors to road deaths. Furthermore the vehicle was also found to be unroadworthy."
