Between 3:30 and 4:00 yesterday afternoon, three men were caught travelling at excessive speeds in separate incidents.
All three were detected exceeding the 100km/hr speed limit on the Lyell Highway, south of Queenstown.
Two men from Hobart were travelling 49 and 40 kilometres over the speed limit respectively, and an Ulverstone man was caught speeding despite having a suspended P1 licence.
Police Inspector Shane LeFevre is appalled by the incidents.
'These drivers showed a blatant disregard for other road users.'
Police are using the incident to remind road users that they will be out in force, conducting speed checks.
'We are expecting significant rainfall across the state over the next few days and we need everyone to take responsibility for keeping us all safe on our roads.'
