Tasmania's border remains on track to reopen to safe jurisdictions on Monday October 26, but a decision on whether NSW will be included in that category has been delayed another week.
Arrivals from WA, South Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and the ACT won't have to quarantine, but they will have to put details into a new travel app called Tas-E Travel and go through health checks.
"Anyone travelling to Tasmania from low risk jurisdictions will be required to register their travel," Premier Peter Gutwein said.
Authorities will monitor coronavirus case numbers in NSW very closely.
"I'm certainly not ruling out easing restrcitions with NSW at this stage. It's important, as we have done right through this, that we sensibly, responsibly, cautiously consider the best way forward and we'll provide an update on the 19th of October," he said.
