Vaccinations for coronavirus are to start in Tasmania at the end of next month.
Initially, hubs for the injections will be established at hospitals in Burnie, Launceston and Hobart.
Katherine Morgan-Wicks from Tasmania's Department of Health explaining the elderly will be the first in line along with health workers.
"Now whilst this is a complex programme to pull together, Tasmania has the health experts to do this and we have safely rolled out large scale vaccination programmes in the past. The key will be starting in a small number of locations to vaccinate our high priority population groups."
Later down the track, vaccinations will be administered at other sites including some general practitioners.
Tasmania's government will run an information campaign outlining where and how to access vaccinations.
