A smash on the Midland Highway at Breadalbane overnight has led to the death of a motorcyclist.
It's unclear what caused the 38-year-old male rider to crash around 9:30pm.
The man - from Perth in Tasmania's north - couldn't be revived at the scene.
The northbound side of the highway was closed for hours between the Perth bypass roundabout and Evandale Road before reopening.
Police are calling for any witnesses to get in touch as a report is prepared for the coroner.
"Police are seeking any information from witnesses who may have seen two motorcycles travelling north on the Midland Highway between Longford and Breadalbane just prior to 9.30pm last night," a statement said.
"Our thoughts are with the man's family and loved ones at this difficult time."
Anyone with information should call Northern Crash Investigation Services on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
