A dozen aged care homes in the state's north and northwest will be covered under phase 1A of the Morrison Government's coronavirus vaccine rollout.
It follows news the Royal Hobart Hospital's vaccine clinic will start dispensing the jab to frontline heatlth, quarantine and border workers from Tuesday.
Now it's emerged that the Pfizer jab will be available for the residents of northern aged care facilities at Legana, Newnham, Newstead, Norwood, Riverside and St Leonards.
Homes at Burnie, Somerset, Penguin, Ulverstone, West Ulverstone and Wynyard will also be visited by a team of trained dispensers.
They're part of some 240 nursing homes around the country which fall under Commonwealth responsibility.
State Health Minister Sarah Courtney is hoping the 14,000 people identified in the first priority group would be fully vaccinated by the end of April.
