Guilty of setting woman on fire

A nearly seven week trial in Hobart has seen a jury find a man guilty of the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend in 2017.

The jury decided the man, a former prison inmate, had set alight the woman who had been splashed with accelerant in his father's shed at Chigwell.

She had claimed it was in the aftermath of her trying to break off their abusive relationship.

The woman was severely injured with 68% of her body suffering burns.

He'll be sentenced at a later date.
