A change of date has meant a change of lineup for Party in the Apocalypse - Tasmania's newest music festival.

Instead of December 3 and 4, the festival will be held on December 27 and 28 at Launceston's Churchill Park.

Pnau and Sneaky Sound System are among artists added to the lineup - with Methyl Ethel, Sly Withers, Teenage Joans and Noah Dillon no longer able to make the event.

Vibestown artistic director said the team is thrilled with the new additions.

"Jaguar Jonze is a super relevant act and will be sure to impress, and Medhanit is someone who we are really proud to see continue to grow on the big stage," he said.

Director Ryan Limb said they can't wait to bring these acts to the state.

"We're excited to be the first major music festival to have dancing back on Tasmanian shores since early 2020," he said.

"The new date means that borders will be open and everyone coming home to Tassie for Christmas can celebrate with friends, let loose and enjoy themselves after a tough few years."

Final tickets will be back on sale from 6pm, Monday 22 November and refunds will be available for those who are unable to make the new dates.
