Police are questioning a driver after a man was rammed by a car on a footpath at East Devonport on Sunday evening.
The utility struck a man on the intersection of Tarleton Street and Torquay Road.
Paramedics attended and transported the injured man to hospital where he's in a critical but stable condition.
Police believe both men, aged 49, know each other, describing it as a targeted incident.
"Tarleton Street was partially closed to the public for a period of time, whilst Forensic and Crash Investigation Services examined the scene," said police.
"Police investigations are ongoing."
