A St Helens man has become a millionaire overnight.

The Tasmanian held one of the four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4251, drawn Saturday 16 April 2022.

Each division one winner took home $1,355,719.73.

The winner had first believed he'd won a grand.

“I checked my ticket after the draw and said, ‘well, that’s not too bad, I’ve won a thousand dollars’, but then I looked closer and just started jumping up and down and yelling that it was more than a million,” he laughed.

The winner's family initially thought he was pulling a prank on them and didn't believe the man at first.

Speaking with an official from The Lott, the winning man said he didn’t blame his family for being sceptical, confirming he was a serial prankster and had tricked them many times before.

“I’ll buy a new car and a few other things, but it’s just fantastic to know we’ll live comfortably now for the rest of our lives,” the man said.

His winning ticket was bought online.
