The Premier has tested positive to COVID.

Jeremy Rockliff spent the weekend in Hobart and attended Sunday's Jackjumpers match after his first question time in the top job last week.

In a statement Mr Rockliff says he woke up on Monday morning with mild symptoms.

A rapid antigen test has confirmed the Premier is COVID-positive and he's gone into the mandatory 7 days of isolation.

The 52-year-old says he's had both jabs and a booster is feeling well otherwise and will work from home.

"I encourage Tasmanians, no matter how mild, to stay home if you're feeling unwell and get tested," said Mr Rockliff.

"Please, remember the important COVID safe behaviours – wash your hands and sanitise, and cover coughs and sneezes."
