‘Gladiators’ Is Returning To Aussie Screens!

The return of the beloved battle program, Gladiators, has been confirmed in Australia.

Originally airing from 1995 to 1996 and again in 2008, this iconic show had viewers hooked, despite only having a total of 85 episodes.

Now, production company Warner Bros has announced the revival of the series with new hosts Liz Ellis, winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia, and Beau Ryan, host of The Amazing Race.

In this exciting reboot, a new generation of “gladiators” will take centre stage. These super-fit individuals will go head-to-head with the brave “challengers” in a series of thrilling confrontations. The gladiators and challengers will showcase their skills, strength, and agility, captivating audiences with their amazing abilities.

The original Gladiators series captured the attention of over 2 million Australians per episode in the 90s, becoming a cultural phenomenon.

While the show is making a comeback, it will now be commissioned by Channel Ten, adding a fresh twist to the format.

Both Liz Ellis and Beau Ryan have expressed their excitement about hosting Gladiators. Liz, a national treasure, shared her enthusiasm for the reboot, promising to incorporate some of the favourite challenges from the original series while introducing new ones for fans to fall in love with. Beau, who grew up watching and loving Gladiators, can’t wait to dive into the excitement and promises a spectacular show alongside Liz.

Although the official return date for The Australian Gladiators has not been confirmed, fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival in 2024. The original series was filmed at The Dome, Sydney Showground. While it’s yet to be confirmed whether the new reboot will return to the same location or seek out a new one, one thing is clear – Gladiators is back, and it’s here to stay.
