Our environment is ever changing. Beyond the cityscape, an ecology surrounds us that is vast, wild and abundant. Filled with tales untold and shared histories, this unruly wilderness is vital to our survival. How do we nurture these ancient lands, waterways and oceans that have nurtured us for thousands of years?

Nowhere celebrates the striking landscape of the Tamar Island Wetlands reserve, taking inspiration from the ever-flowing waters, wildlife and people.

Presenting a unique collaboration between local writer, Adam Thompson, choreography by Yolande Brown and the Stompin cast, this work promises to be epic, beautiful and like nothing you have experienced before.”

The Tamar Island Wetlands reserve is approximately 60 hectares of mud flats, lagoons and islands. Nowhere will research, reimagine and re-tell the stories of Tamar Island and the Kanamaluka/Tamar River, drawing upon indigenous story, the ecology of the area and present-day anecdotes. We will work with Yolande Brown, in collaboration with Stompin’s Artistic Director Caitlin Comerford and the Stompin cast to learn more about the area and understand why it is so important to protect and preserve, creating a work that stretches the length of the walking journey to Tamar Island.

Audiences will board buses at the commencement of the performance and be transported to The Tamar Island Wetlands Reserve.
Free Parking is available at the Council Carpark at QVMAG Inveresk.
