The Star Theatre, Launceston

Details: Built in 1937, the Star Theatre is an iconic Art Deco cinema in Launceston, Tasmania. It ceased operation as a cinema in 1969 but it was re-opened on the 24 February 2018. Come and see the beautiful Art Modern (late 1930s Art Deco) cinema that has been restored. You are welcome to wander through and have a look at the building, enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine at the cafe/bar, and of course watch a movie!

Music in the Park 2019
Where: City Park, Launceston
When: Sunday, 6th January to Saturday, 2nd March 2019 from 12:30pm
Details: Music in the Park 2019 is a City of Launceston initiative in the beautiful surrounds of the City Park Band Rotunda featuring live music performances by local acts, a jumping castle and free City Park train rides for the Launceston community.
The event is perfect to bring along a picnic, catch up with friends and family and enjoy the beautiful park on Sunday afternoons and Australia Day in January.

Exeter Art Studios
Where: Parking off the Frankford highway in the Exeter Show grounds.
When: Sunday, 11th November 2018 – Tuesday, 30th April 2019
Details: A new working arts centre is opening in Exeter. As of 11th November, there is going to be a working community arts studio. Members of the public and tourists are encouraged to visit the various artisans as they work on their own specialised medium in the Exeter Show Hall. The studios are open Wednesday through to Sunday from 9am to 5pm and will continue through to April 2019.
